Well, you're not presently missing out on much if you enjoy playing online.
The online mode has become overrun back hackers and glitches. Example: A common theme is playing a 1-star Club that has a starting 11 of

What sucks, is this is the case in both unranked and ranked versions online. So no longer playing Club matches in legitimate fashion or actually going to improve your rank against legit opponents.
EA has done very little to stop any of this and it's been discussed that the " Ultimate Team Mode " is what lead to the ability to hack to this extent. Apparently, the next level of hacking has " Legendary " players popping up out of nowhere: Pele, Cantona, Zindane, etc.
It's garbage the level online has become, for FIFA 09'.

Yes it was very unfortunately, that the EA team couldn't fix the problem.

I've never come up agaisnt a super team like that, mostly because I only played around 100-150 games online

Me and a few of the lads were playing last night.
Made a mess about club on BAP and our first match was against Man United...supercharged.
Puyol walking out of the tunnel at Old Trafford in a match involving Ireland and Man United...maybe he was lost?
Maybe Messi, Ibra, Alves, Ramos, Xavi etc. were all lost?
