Kolo Toure set for Man City Medical

I thought I just read that Kolo would be staying with Arsenal and his brother stating that " City is too small of a Club, for Kolo ".....?

This will definitely help the backline for City, even if it is just for a season or two.

    Paletta to Palermo Collapses

It appeared that Argentine defender Gabriel Paletta would join the ranks of South Americans at Renzo Barbera, but Palermo have now announced on their official website, ilpalermocalcio.it, that "misunderstandings came up ... between the two clubs".

The move from Buenos Aires giants Boca Juniors to Sicily had originally been held up by concerns over Paletta's fitness, with the result that the Rosanero changed their minds and altered their permanent offer to a loan bid.

The Palermo hierarchy have since commented on the collapse of the transfer, with president Maurizio Zamparini confident that the club would pursue other targets instead.

"These things happen - it's regrettable as we were waiting to see the lad in training tomorrow. [Sporting director Walter] Sabatini knows what happened - we will make some other moves in the market."

When the president was asked whether one of the moves would be for Nelson Rivas, he replied, "he will not be an alternative."

Sabatini confirmed to the club's official website that there were "misunderstandings over the figures" in the transfer, while the physical condition of Paletta had not been a factor in the negotiations.

I personally don't like him, but since Facundo Roncaglia left for Espanyol, I'm glad Paletta didn't leave.

We're going to be on a defender shortage if this continues...

Yet, I'd like Paletta and Forlin to leave so they could develop and become future Argentina players.

    Two problems with Dayro,

    1) He's an alcoholic

    2) He's has severe discipline issues.

On the good side, when on form he's is deadly in scoring, and he' s is literally fast like Eto'o

Arbeloa claims Madrid move is "nearly completed"

Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa says he is close to sealing a transfer to Real Madrid even though the big-spending Spanish side seem more concerned with trimming their squad after an extravagant close-season spending spree.

I wonder how much/if any at all, this effects the Xabi (potential) deal.

Emerson to Santos I think is a very stupid signing, don't think he will do any good for Santos. Meanwhile, Cruzeiro signing Joffre Guerron is good business....he will offer them lots of pace and will deliver the goods for Kleber to score.

    Emerson - Santos
    Guerron - Cruzeiro
    Renteria - Atl. Miniero
    Leandro Lima - Cruzeiro
    Gilberto - Cruzeiro

That won't effect Xabi's future at all.

Arbeloa has been certain to leave this summer. Glen Johnson coming in and a few youth lads coming up, probably the best decision for all. Although he should have considered a different team. Sergio Ramos isn't going to be knocked out of the starting 11 by Arbeloa. So unless he starts at LB, he'd better grab a coat, may be chilly sitting on that bench for a while.

Liverpool today confirmed they have reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Alvaro Arbeloa to the La Liga side.

A Liverpool spokesman said: "We have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for
the transfer of the player, subject to him completing a medical."

    Deal done then. Adios amigo.

    As did Kolo Toure.

Kolo passes medical, exits Arsenal for City

Kolo Toure has signed a four-year deal with Manchester City after sealing his £15million switch from Arsenal.

The 28-year-old is believed to have agreed a £120,000-a-week deal deal after Arsene Wenger confirmed Sportsmail's exclusive story that the Ivorian is the latest big name player to leave the club this summer joining Emmanuel Adebayor.

City almost have a complete nucleus to build for the future on now. Selfishly, I'm hoping they're not able to aquire Lescott from Everton, since he's a big help to American GK Tim Howard, but in terms of my disdain for United, I wouldn't mind Lescott leaving Merseyside and joining City.

Ya, City are actually starting to pull a very good team together as surprising as it is. However, their starting line up will probably consist of only like 5 players from last season. I can imagine them having some chemistry problem as players that are forced out become angry and jealous and with a coach like Mark Hughes, expect the worst.

Kenny Cooper to one of my favorite teams: 1860 Munchen

Where they got the money, i don't know. They are on the verge of bankruptcy. Bayern, their arch rivals, had to buy them out of their stadium contract for like 17mil Euros so they wouldn't fold.
